I love baby blankets. There is just something so adorable about them. But as a mom I have hated trying to find a blanket that is perfect for using with a stroller. If it covers their legs well the sides fall out and then catch in the wheels and now you have a dirty and in most cases for me wet blanket. If it’s not going to get caught in the sides then it isn’t long enough to cover their legs.
So I set out on a mission to appease the stroller riding hooligans that love evening strolls around the neighborhood. And that is how we got to this pretty little blanket.
Size H/8-5.00mm hook
560 yards of Red Heart Super Saver Ombre
Gauge is not important with this project.
Dc- double crochet
Sc- single crochet
Ch 1 at beginning of row doesn’t count as a stitch.
To make the blanket wider increase by increments of 6.
To make the blanket longer repeat Arcade and Griddle sections ending with
Row 1: Ch 1, 2 sc, *ch 3, sk 3, sc 3, repeat from * across until you have 5 ch, ch 3, sc 2.
Row 2: Ch 1, *7 dc in ch sp, sk 1 st, sc 1, sk 1 st, repeat from * until 1 st left, 1 sc.
Row 3: Ch 4, sk 3 st, sc 3, *ch 3, sk 5 st, sc 3, repeat from * until you have 2 st left, ch 1, sk 1, dc last st.
Row 4: Ch 3, 3 dc first ch sp, * sk 1, sc 1, sk 1, 7 dc in ch sp, repeat from * until 3 st left, sk 1, sc 1, 4 dc in last ch sp.
Row 5: Ch 1, sc 2 * ch 3, sk 5 st, sc 3, repeat from * until 6 st left, ch 3, sk 5, sc 1.
Row 6-17: repeat rows 2-5 in order 3 times.
Row 18: Ch 1, * dc 1, sc 1, repeat from * across ending in sc.
Row 19-33: Repeat row 18. Always starting with dc and ending with sc.
Row 34: Ch 1, 2 sc, *ch 3, sk 3, sc 3, repeat from * across until you have 5 ch, ch 3, sc 2.
Row 35- 50: Repeat rows 2-5 in order.
Row 51-66: Repeat row 18. Always starting with dc and ending with sc.
Row 67: Ch 1, 2 sc, *ch 3, sk 3, sc 3, repeat from * across until you have 5 ch, ch 3, sc 2.
Row 68-83: Repeat rows 2-5 in order.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
